ABB PFTL 101B is a high-precision magnetoelastic pillow block tension sensor from ABB, part of the PFTL series. It is specifically designed to measure horizontal forces and is widely used for web tension control in industries such as papermaking and metal processing.

• Measuring Principle: Based on the Pressductor® technology (magnetoelastic effect). When the sensor is subjected to force, its magnetic properties change, generating an electrical signal proportional to the force. 💡 How to Select & Install

• Selection Notes: The PFTL101B series also has special-environment variants, such as PFTL101BE (mill type, suitable for environments with rolling emulsion) and PFTL101BER (acid-resistant type, suitable for pickling lines). Please confirm your operating conditions when selecting.
• Installation Key Points: Do not drill into designated areas to avoid damaging internal circuits. Also, adapter plates (minimum 35mm thick) must be installed on the top and bottom of the sensor to ensure proper alignment and even load distribution. Cables must be secured firmly to prevent shunt forces caused by thermal expansion/contraction, which could affect measurement accuracy.
